Saxophonist & Band Leader

Tyriq Andrews hailing from Waterbury, CT is a seasoned saxophonist, live sound expert and our band leader. Over the last 5 years, Tyriq has dedicated his time sharpenin his skills as a instrumentalist and performer. Having a diverse background in Jazz, R&B, Funk, and Gospel, Tyriq blends the sounds together to create a unique sound of his ow that adds to the modern sound of Melodus. Tyriq has contributed to may bands by ripping fiery solos ad playing captivating melodies that demands the attention of everyone in attendance.

Lead Vocalist

Tessa Lee is from Seymour, CT. Inspired by Donny Hathaway, Amy Winehouse, and Lauryn Hill to name a few, she holds a BA in music from Western Connecticut State University. Tessa began performing out live in duo / acoustic acts during the pandemic and started Melodus with Tyriq Andrews in December of 2022. Now apart of 2 popular cover bands in CT, Tessa has done well over 100 shows and keeps gaining experience on stage and in all styles of music. Aside from singing out at various venues between CT, MA, and RI, she’s also working on original music and song writing. One song called ‘Luck’ is released so far and you can listen to it out on platforms or out at a Melodus show.

Drums

Noah, a professional drummer from the New Haven area, boasts an impressive resume that includes collaborations with esteemed artists like Doobie Powell, Jonathan DuBose, Thabisa, and BODHI. His love for drumming, which started in the church, has taken him on a journey that has earned him an endorsement from Soultone Cymbals, a testament to his skill and dedication to his craft.

Keyboardist

Tom Schmidt (Keys) is active in the CT/NYC/Boston live music scenes. Tom has toured the country with CITIZEN’S DEAD and is an active member of several other popular bands including DAZE IN, FASTER THINGS, GRAVITY FEED, and SAUCE. Tom has also performed with FUZZ SANGIOVANNI and AUTUMN DRIVE. Tom lives in Bethel, CT.

Bass Guitar

Xavier Bertrand is a multi-instrumentalist  that has played in bands around the tri-state area in various genres such as reggae, soca, calypso, r&b, gospel and pop

Guitar

Kenny is a psychedelic Blues inspired guitarist based in Ct, raised in Queens NY. He blends R&B soul and jazz with his blues tone stylistically and seamlessly, providing an experience similarly to Jimi Hendrix, John Mayer, and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
